Hi, Michele,
I am not going to go through and read all the responses here but I will make an observation based on your update and response and share an experience of a friend.
There are physical reasons WHY your stomach cannot support a regular meal...and it has nothing to do with shrinkage unless you've been marooned in the desert for days on end with only minimal water to drink (and even that's iffy). Among the possibilities might be cancer of the stomach which is leaving little room for food, or distortion of the stomach capacity caused by ballooning out of adjacent areas for one reason or another. Both of these possibilities (and these are only two of many) demand serious MEDICAL DOCTOR INTERVENTION, not nutritionists and personal trainers.
I'm not a doctor, and this is not medical advice, but I have a friend who died from stomach cancer and his symptoms were similar to yours...until it metastasized and he finally started losing weight rapidly...but by then it was too late. His wife wishes someone had told him what I just shared with you because stomach cancer IS curable, if caught in time, as she found out.
In all seriousness, please get yourself to a good gastroenterologist NOW.
