Oh my... now it's starting to make sense.

There's no chance he knowingly gave his information to anyone. He works at Kinkos, and several times a month he comes home and tells me he tried (and failed) to convince a customer not to fax their banking information somewhere to claim their prize or whatever, so he's well aware of all that.

But once I went to what I thought was my Citibank account...

I delete piles of phishing emails every day, so I'm very familiar with them, but EVERYTHING about this email said "Citibank" (and I frequently get emails from them because I make my payments online) (and this wasn't asking for anything, just an informational thing).

So anyhoo, I clicked the link -- and of course as soon as it asked me to log in, I stopped dead -- but to my total amazement, there was NOTHING visible to tell me I was not on the Citibank site. I just knew.

Then I did something that Roadie scolded me for --

I went back to the email and clicked the link again, because I wanted to watch the bottom corner. Sure enough, I saw it flash through a bunch of IP#'s before it landed on the flawless "Citibank" page.

At this point, I'm guessing that's what happened. My husband is the ADD Poster Boy, so I doubt he'll remember, but I'm going to try to phish it out (sorry). It will make me feel better if I understand it.

They closed the PayPal account completely -- at least, that's what I think they did. We can't log into it at all... "Invalid Login Information."

We requested his password, and it said an email had been sent -- twice -- but no email ever came. That's what I don't under...

OMIGOD!!!....

Is it possible his email from PayPal is being diverted somehow and the account is still open??? They could have added another email address and made it the primary!!

He never put the bank account into PayPal -- this I know, because you can only have the same bank account number in one place, and I have it on my account.

The debit card he used with the account has been cancelled -- will that take care of it??

Thanks.

Luv,

MaaMaw

NOTICE TO SCUMBEEZLES
(you know who you are... you scream "Foul!" when the truth comes out)
PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT.  It has been done before, but never successfully.  In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace.
NEWS FLASH:  I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday.  I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish.  I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?).  I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!"
Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures.

In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact.
And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!).
