Those Are Pretty Strong Words

In my post, I mentioned that it sounds a lot like article marketing (A.K.A. Bum Marketing), which can work. It's just that Travis Sago's basic site is free -- and "free" is often the only option available to some.
And competition? How can I compete with good, free information?
The Computer Career Institute and certification, to me, sounds like some clever marketing (incidentally, I hold a computer security certification and am familiar with the various standards for creating a certification and almost all of the organizations that offer certifications based on those standards, hence I'm a bit skeptical when I hear of a certification from an organization with which I am not familiar. Then again, as a nurse, you most likely know what I'm talking about!). Nothing wrong with that, of course (after all, many of us here are marketers, and one of us may actually be borderline "clever"...).
I also know that many do not find this board until after they have been swindled out of their last dollar by some crooked "get rich quick" scheme / scam and simply have very little cash left to try to start making money -- so I always try to find no-cost or low-cost systems for people to follow when I make recommendations on this board. So it has nothing to do with CCI and everything to do with the target market for this board.
In reality, you can find anything you want for free -- to include all of the information included in expensive courses and products! However, actually FINDING the information in a timely manner is the key, and paying for information that is well-organized and instantly useful is a great choice sometimes, and your experience seems to validate that.
From your experience (and remember, I have no experience with, or opinion of, Computer Career Institute), it looks like the information being sold is worth it and it might be worth it for somebody who can risk the investment. At any rate, your input is greatly appreciated! Often all we hear about "new stuff" is a bunch of skeptic-driven blabber, so sharing your experience is invaluable (and being able to reach "a real person" speaks well of this organization).
And keep up the good work (both nursing and marketing). There are lots of people who have been plugging away at this business for years and haven't made a single cent, so perhaps CCI is worth looking at. What you've accomplished isn't a small thing at all.
Hope to hear more from you soon.
Best regards,
TomP.S. -- Remember, we're all a bunch of skeptics around here, so please tread lightly. We have no objections to objections about issues, but we do tend to get a bit miffed if it gets personal... Thanks for treading lightly!

| PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT. It has been done before, but never successfully. In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace. NEWS FLASH: I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday. I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish. I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?). I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!" Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures. In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact. And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!). |
