Although I don't invest in the FOREX market, I am an active equities trader (stocks). A few things that I do know about the FOREX market is that you can leverage your trading capital up to 100 times the capital that you invest yourself. Also, unlike investing in the stock market, on most FOREX trading platforms you can't lose more than the amount of money you invest yourself. In the stock market, if you use leverage (i.e. a margin account), you could wind up owing the broker more than the amount of money you originally invested. This is known as a "margin call", where the broker notifies you to tell you that you owe them money. Of course, the fact that you would "only" be at risk of losing your original investment with the FOREX market is still a highly risky proposition. I believe, however, that that the FOREX markets operate more based on supply and demand, and so the trends can be more predictable than with stocks.
Like I mentioned, I strictly invest in stocks, but I have been meaning to learn more about the FOREX market, simply due to some of the advantages I've listed above. My advice to you is to not pay any company to learn about the FOREX market. From what I've seen in doing some very minimal research, many of the FOREX trading platforms provide a great deal of free educational resources and tutorials on how the FOREX markets work and how to trade them. It's in the interest of these FOREX trading platforms to provide you with this free information so that you eventually trade on their platforms. Also, I'd be willing to bet that there are hundreds of free books at your local library that provide information on trading the FOREX.
