I've read several of these posts, and there is one really serious problem. You're depending way too heavily on your software to be mistake-proof. It's better than human calculations!!!! Well, I've got some bad news for you. Humans formed all those algorithms, and as we all know by now humans make mistakes. It's bad enough when you have a relatively simple mistake balancing your checkbook. That's simple addition and subtraction, but finding and correcting the mistake can take a while. Now, you want me to believe that this software can't possibly have a mistake--- possibly a serious one-- buried somewhere in all that code???? Give me a break. Human beings coded it. I don't care if they ARE M.I.T. graduates, they're still human and still prone to the same mistakes the rest of us can make.
Every time I turn around, there's another story about a serious flaw in some piece of software. Microsoft is known for being only slightly less "buggy" than a mosquito-infested swamp. Adobe has had problems. Quicken has had problems. Even Apple's Macintosh occassionally has a flaw. Why else do you think they all have the constant parade of updates to fix problems, some of which are serious enough to turn your machine into a doorstop if not fixed?

>> will free up for them... we can do even better.Wait just a second... do you mean this program can make extra payments out of THIN AIR???? This, I've got to see. Also--- if the people involved don't have enough to kick in an extra payment now and then, then just where are they coming up with the money to pay for the software-- at thirty five hundred dollars a pop???? Also, if they have zero dollars of discretionary income then they're probably on the verge of foreclosure anyway. It's a known fact, proven too many times, that if you're that close to the edge on your finances, Murphy will move into the spare bedroom. He'll bring his cousins, Broke, Desperate and Stupid with him, too. No software can save you if you're living that close to the edge.
By now, you've probably figured out that I'm not exactly buying this. You're right, I'm not. There's no reason to. A halfway decent accountant can put together a reasonable plan for paying a home mortgage down earlier and he won't cost you thirty-five hundred for the planning either. For that matter, if you've got enough room in your budget you can probably figure an acceptable plan out for yourself, using software already on your computer (a calculator).

| PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT. It has been done before, but never successfully. In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace. NEWS FLASH: I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday. I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish. I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?). I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!" Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures. In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact. And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!). |
