FIB - Scams 101
Looking for extra $$$ - part time, flexible hours

Hello everyone! I really need to post here a little more often I guess. I find myself lurking all the time, but I just don't post too much anymore...
Anyway, some of you might remember me posting a LONG time ago about my wifes catering business and the financial mess it put us in with debt. Well, long story short, we finally eliminated all our personal debt (except for the mortgage), and we are now attacking her business debt with a vengeance! Once that is gone, we'll be attacking the mortgage just as hard!
The upside (for me) is that she has also agreed to shut the business down as of Jan 1, 2008. WooHoo!!!!!!! :-)
The downside, is that we will be continuing to put about $2200 per month of our personal funds toward eliminating all the debt her business accumulated over the years. Unfortunately, that is going to take about 12-14 months to get rid of.
It actually makes sense to do this for many reasons. Her business continues to lose money, our daughter is handling the work during the day - and she HATES it, my wife works 3rd shift at another company and has no time to work on the business any more, she has totally lost her passion for it, and she hasn't paid herself anything from the business for something like 5 years. So if you factor her time in, it's losing even more than we see on paper.
So, that brings me to this post... I'm trying to think of some ways to make extra money (fast) without having to commit to a regular schedule or a particular location. I already have a full-time job I LOVE, but the hours are somewhat sporadic and it requires travel.
What I need is something I can do part time, preferably even from home or a hotel room, that has flexible hours. It could be online or offline, I really have no preference in this case.
Any thoughts or ideas? I've been listening to Dave Ramsey, and he always talks about getting a job delivering pizza's until you get your debt paid off. Believe me, I've thought about that and would do it in a heartbeat! But, I'd probably end up losing the job the first time I had to call off because I was dispatched on a project for my regular job.
BTW, with my regular job, I'm typically out of town for 1-2 days, and then back home for 1-3 days with not much going on other than a few conference calls and paperwork.
C'mon people! I know you have better ideas than I do! Toss a few my way! ;-)

| PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT. It has been done before, but never successfully. In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace. NEWS FLASH: I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday. I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish. I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?). I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!" Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures. Although we may, from time to time, monitor or review discussions, postings and the like on the Friends In Business (Scams 101) Message Board, we are under no obligation to do so. If you cannot accept or agree with the terms of service for this website and discussion board, you are advised not to post on this board. In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact. And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!). |
