FIB - Scams 101

What did I do to get on the home-based business garbage mailing list?

Posted By: Dennis Bevers

In the past month, I've received more bizopp garbage and scams than I see online some days.

Just today, I got a second mailing from T.J. Roleder offering "Cash-in 48 hours!", along with all kind s of amazing secrets, along with bonus gifts - total package worth a "GUARANTEED", "TRUE VALUE" of $3,985.00".

They even enclosed a small blue envelope (to be read only AFTER reading T.J.'s multiple page letter, promising, "This is like shooting fish in a Barrel!" Inside was a memo from the desk of Shelly Webster, Gen. Mgr. of M.O.R.E. Inc.

I was fortunate to be selected as one of only 1000 people to receive the blue envelope in my mailing (possibly because I didn't respond to his previous letter last month.) If I was one of the first 30 of those 1000 to respond, I'd get the whole original package plus not 7, but 8 more gifts, making it worth $8,614.00.

I just needed to be one of the first 30, and agree to the 4 following conditions:

1. I must be SERIOUS about making a lot of money. That one's easy.

2. I must agree to carefully read about T.J.'s problem and SERIOUSLY consider if I want to help hime and become a Founding Partner of his newest company. (Does that sound similar to a pre-launch?)

3. I must agree to keep all of this completely CONFIDENTIAL - Well I just blew that one. I was only allowed to inform my spouse or immediate business partner.

4. Doesn't matter as I already blew it, but #4I would have to have the financial mean to take advantage of this offer - (about the cost of a good used car, plus a monthly maintenance fee.)

What a joke?

That just barely topped a smaller envelope from the generically in cognito - Source Economic/M.A. Enterprises. There bizopp sounded suspiciously like envelope stuffing, but they explained that I would be mailing special letters for them, and could even choose my income Group level.

If I selected Income Group #1, for just $49.00 Application fee they'd send me 49 letters, 49 envelopes, and 49 customer mailing labels.

Income Group #2 - $69.00 - Ju guessed it - 69 letter, envelopes, and labels.

Income Group #3 - $99.00 - No surprise, 99 letters, envelopes, and labels.

Income Group #4 - $139.00 - Here's where the big money starts - 290 letters, envelopes, and labels

Income Group #5 - Available only by advancement from among those who joined Group $4 to start. Once I've been paid 4 paychecks I will be promoted with the earning potential of $5000 weekly. Yep, they'll send my 500 letters, envelopes, and labels each week.

And they offer a money back guarantee. My full application fee, which was only for processing to begin with, will be refunded with my 3rd paycheck.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that they give people the option of paying by cash. Who in their right mind would send $49 to $139 cash in the mail?

The big inconsistency is that first they talk about paying $10 for every envelople folded, stuffed, and mailed, then later insert the word potential income.

Obviously, if the letters were legitimate, they could hire a U.S. mailing service to print, fold, insert, address and mail the letters for less than $1.50 each including the postage. And the higher the volume, the more likely they could find a bulk mailer to do the entire job for under $1 per letter, less than 1/10th they claim they pay.

Outright scam from beginning to end.

Typical envelope stuffing scheme that preys on the naive individuals who are clueless about such scams.

NOTICE TO SCUMBEEZLES
(you know who you are... you scream "Foul!" when the truth comes out)
PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT.  It has been done before, but never successfully.  In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace.
NEWS FLASH:  I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday.  I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish.  I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?).  I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!"
Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures.

In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact.
And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!).
