This time around, it prompted a Google search for Money Merge Accounts, which is what all of this UFF stuff is based on. I found something of interest in the link below, at least it got my interest.
Personal thoughts: I doubt that this program does any better than you can do by simply paying extra payments with the stipulation that the extra payments are to pay down the PRINCIPAL. You can easily do this by making the necessary arrangements with your bank/mortgage company, it costs either nothing or a small fee to figure it out "for sure".
MMAs do not create money out of thin air. The money to pay down the debt has to come from somewhere, and that means either you trim other areas of your budget to find the money or you get a better-paying job, or maybe both. That requires personal discipline. If you have that, you can make a spreadsheet dance your tune and pay down your mortgage early. If you don't have that, no amount of special software can help you.
Third and last thought on this; it's personal I admit but I have a visceral dislike of Helocs or anything else based on an ARM. I've hated ARMS ever since they first came out way back in the late Seventies. They trapped good people in bad mortgages then, and nothing has changed since. The Heloc just feels like a trap because it's based on an ARM, and----- forget about the cheese, just let me out of this trap.
