Rochelle,

If you haven't paid the $169 already, you might want to reconsider. There are many other options for selling embroidered and screen-printed clothing that won't cost you $169.

If you do a Google search for Logoweardirect, you'll find threads on them going back to '05, but most the posts are negative. One point I remember is one dealer who was disappointed to find his commission was only half what he expected. He learned they only pay the dealer commissions on the shirts and not on the embroidery.

The recruiting booklet they mail is full of smoke and mirrors. Lots of examples of large orders, but not a single one where you can see the amount of profits earned. They either post the dealer's profit or selling price, leaving you clueless on the commission percentage.

Search for active dealer websites and you are likely to find most the links to dealers are dead ends. If they are making great money, why are some many dropping out and abandoning their websites?

At least a couple former dealers told of spending $600 to $800 for the start-up, mailing materials, and the company website, with the end results on no sales or problems with any orders they did receive.

Some of the former dealers posted here on FIB in the past, and none with any examples of success. I've exchanged emails with a number of ex-LWD dealers as well as others who received the booklet but looked for a better alternative. I've been selling promotional advertising for nearly 24 years, and embroidered caps, shirts, and jackets account for over 15% of my annual sales volume. It cost me $50 back when I started with my first distributor, and with my present distributor people can start for free or with an $85 deposit.

Feel free to contact me for more details if you decide to look for a better alternative.

Proceed with caution. You have 30 days to return the materials for a refund according to the booklet I received.

A helpful list of criteria for checking out that next business opportunity.

NOTICE TO SCUMBEEZLES
(you know who you are... you scream "Foul!" when the truth comes out)
PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT.  It has been done before, but never successfully.  In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace.
NEWS FLASH:  I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday.  I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish.  I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?).  I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!"
Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures.

In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact.
And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!).
