The Scams101 Message Board is a good place to start. What's that? You've found a Biz Op and you're wondering if it's endorsed by FIB?... Not unless it's listed in MaaMaw's Magnificent Toolbox. |

Wellll... no

>> wow you two must be lawyers!lol
No, but I'm a graduate student and an anthropologist and I do research on human subjects. That was kind of a quick explanation for folks here. Anthropologists are tree-hugging hippy-dippy humanists, and I believe everyone deserves "full disclosure".
That was sort of the minimum you need to do for research on this topic.
>> I didnt realize I would have to apply for a federal grant and get
>> permission. Geesh....Like we are a bunch of ginea pigs. Yes my grandson
>> son is on chemo and has suffered the pain of human clinical trials at NIH.
>> But this isnt human trials. Nice comparison though. You were the one who suggested research. That's how research is done -- scientific method.
You can't compare the effects on my mortgage/etc (supporting 5 people, and three elderly relatives who need attention on grad student slave wages) with a mortgage for my friend, who's a 35 year old farmer with a wife and one kid.
And I think that in all fairness, people who get involved in a researcher's project deserve to have good research done.
You'd expect that for yourself, right?
>> If we were doing a comparison of software and self spreadsheets
>> wouldnt I be the only one purchasing or using the UFF software? The formulas aren't magic. You can find paydown schedules and spreadsheets (if you have Excel) all over the internet and compare them directly.
>> well, there is a new article I got in the mail today that actually has
>> the comparisons in it from the different softwares. I know UFF probably
>> paid the magazine off to print it, but anyway guess who got the thumbs up?I know you were being ironic, but you've hit on a partial truth. UFF is an advertising partner and the magazine features articles written by the advertisers (if it's the one I'm thinking of.) So, yes, someone at UFF wrote it. Check out their featured businesses from previous years (if you can) and you'll find the articles are being written by franchisers.
...at least, I'm pretty sure you didn't mean it was a featured business in Time magazine or Barrons Financial Report or Motley Fool or Wall Street Journal.
>> I guess we will just have to wait and see whats what in the near
>> future. Hey I have been wrong once before! We have no problem with you spending your own money on this... if you feel it does you good, then good for you! If you want to do historical research, then have at it (but do a decent job of it, eh?)
But don't challenge people to "do research" with you and require them to fork over $3500 for the privilege. That's not ethical research. I think people deserve good, fair, and ethical research and reporting. But not everyone knows what this is or what it looks like, so I do educate the "board buddies" and driveby readers when I have the chance.

| PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT. It has been done before, but never successfully. In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace. NEWS FLASH: I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday. I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish. I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?). I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!" Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures. Although we may, from time to time, monitor or review discussions, postings and the like on the Friends In Business (Scams 101) Message Board, we are under no obligation to do so. You are likewise prohibited from posting any false claims against any company or individual. We will fully cooperate with any law enforcement authorities or court order requesting or directing us to disclose the identity of anyone posting any such information or materials. If you cannot accept or agree with the terms of service for this website and discussion board, you are advised not to post on this board. In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact. And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!). |
