The consumer in the USA got comfortable having it both ways: no oil drilling on our land – AND bargain prices at the pump. Looks like somebody will have to start reading the handwriting on the wall…and start producing fuel at home.
Of course, that isn’t likely to help, since good old American Greed would drive the prices up anyway. Unless competition worked to bring back those old fashion "gas wars" that drove the price of a gallon of gas DOWN. Doubtful we'll see that again. Went the way of penny candy.
Best to keep your bike is in good repair.
