Home-based job in customer service

One of the most common among the few legitimate home-based careers is customer service, where the employee fields phone calls referred to a dedicated phone in their home.
While West is the one I hear about most, Florida-based Willow customer service network has expanded operations in the Dallas, TX market. This is important, as the customer service reps must login to a central calling system.
Here's a dated article on Willow:

Willow CSN, Miramar, FL, will hire hundreds of Dallas-area call center agents in the next several months, the company said. Willow uses a work-at-home model in which agents work from their personal computers and dial into a central network hub.
A workforce expansion is needed because of the company's growing client list, Willow CSN said. Willow CSN added 18 new nationwide clients in 2004, more than doubling its total client list.

Although the article is from 2005, with the turnover in CS reps, those looking for home-based work might want to check with Willow.
These positions usually have several restrictive criteria, including no inside dogs, small children, or other noise sources that would interfere with the phone calls. They will also require a set minimum of available hours, but will allow for flexible schedules.
West and Willow CSN are just two of the many US-based call centers who utilize home-based workers.
