I know this is an older post but hopefully this info may help others. I am embedding my responses into the message. Also I would like to say that I am not a rep for this company -- yet -- but am seriously considering it. I have used their service for over 2 years.
>> Hello all.

>> or even if they deliver what they promise. If you are referring to AmeriPlan -- they do deliver what they promise. You have to understand that this is a membership that you pay in order to receive discounts on medical services. This is not insurance. We save 50% on our prescriptions and my husband has diabetes and heart problems so we're talking about a savings of about $200 a month. On chiropractic care we save $10 a visit and I go at least twice a month. The membership fee is $19.95 a month so in my opinion - the chiro savings alone warrants keeping AmeriPlan.

>> TanyaAmeriPlan also has a medical membership where you can save on things like x-rays, mammograms and blood draws (My hubby has to have a complete blood workup every 3 months. We pay $102 - without AmeriPlan it would cost $384). They also have an advocate that will step in if you are hospitalized and negotiate the lowest prices and a payment plan.
In my opinion, you could get catastrophic health insurance or see about setting up a Health Savings Account (HSA) and use AmeriPlan for the small stuff. My daughter is self-employed (she's a beautician) so I know how hard it is to find insurance that you can afford.
I would be more than happy to answer any questions you might have. I'd also like to know if anyone has had any experience being an IBO for AmeriPlan.
Good Luck to you Tanya - I hope this hasn't come too late!

| PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT. It has been done before, but never successfully. In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace. NEWS FLASH: I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday. I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish. I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?). I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!" Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures. In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact. And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!). |
