FIB - Scams 101

i've discovered how to be really successful (not what you think)

Hello everyone. I just wanted to share a personal experience with everyone because I have spent over 10 years trying to be successful in businesses and failing. Don't worry, I'm not promoting anything here, but I want to share a "light bulb moment" that recently hit me like a ton of bricks.

For years I've tried setting up all different types of businesses, many of which were related to selling different forms of advertising. I was never able to reach the level of success that I thought I wanted and I could never understand why I felt like I kept running into a brick wall.

I don't know how or why this "revelation" hit me one day recently, but I was sitting at my desk, unmotivated as usual, not wanting to market my advertising services, and I realized that I didn't really believe 100% in what I was offering. Sure, some businesses might have success with what I was offering, but I knew that many of them would not, because, unfortunately advertising isn't an exact science. For years, without even knowing it, I felt secretly guilty about offering a service that I knew might result in no new business for the companies that were buying my advertising services.

Once I realized what was holding me back all these years, the solution became extremely easy to solve: Just get into a business that I believed in 100%. Well, I'm happy to say that within less than a day I started a business that offers a service that I believe in 100%, and I've been full speed ahead ever since then. I don't have any "down days" and I never feel unmotivated anymore.

Over my ten years of trials and tribulations, I heard people say over and over again "Do what you love". Well, unfortunately for me playing music is what I love but I didn't like the hours and lifestyle that went along with performing and the pay was never enough to make ends meet. Plus, I know countless musicians who are far more talented than I am who struggle to pay the bills every month. After exploring all of the other ways that I could have a career in music, I realized that none of these alternatives appealed to me. It sounds weird, but I love music too much to make it a job that my survival depends on, because that's exactly when music became not fun (every time I tried to make a career out it).

What I realized in my recent revelation was that you don't necessarily need to take what you love and figure out how to get paid at it, but of course if you can that's great too. In my case, I found an issue that I believe in 100%. Whenever a problem related to this issue is in the news, it has a profound effect on me. By getting involved in a business that can help solve this issue and make a real difference in the world, I've found the passion that I've always heard other successful people talk about in the past.

I guess the whole thing I'm trying to say to anyone listening or still reading after all of my rambling is this: If you're not yet wildly successful in business and you haven't been able to take the thing that you love and turn it into a wildly successful business, try doing what I did: Take an issue or subject that you feel deeply passionate about and try to get into a business that has a real, positive impact on that issue or subject.

I've learned something about myself recently that I think is probably true of most people: As humans, we really just want to make a positive difference and we want to feel like we're doing good. Deep down, I think everyone wants to leave the world better than it was before they got here. I think the main reason many people aren't big successes (and definitely why I wasn't) is because they don't feel like their day-to-day is contributing positively towards anything important. They're just doing what they do to pay their bills and try to survive another day. By aligning this deep down desire to make a difference on an issue you feel strongly about, with a method for generating revenue, whether in a traditional job or a business that you start from scratch, I think you will wake up each day invigorated and passionate about what you do. The end result will be success beyond anything you might have imagined. You won't feel like you're just existing anymore and you'll naturally want to put all that you have into what you do.

I'm sorry that this post was so long, but I've visited this forum for years, and I really think that after all these years I finally "get it". It sounds weird even saying this, but I actually think I've discovered the secret to happiness and life (wow that sounds corny - sorry, but it's true!) Thanks for listening and I hope this posts helps spark the a-ha moment for you, just like it recently did for me.

NOTICE TO SCUMBEEZLES
(you know who you are... you scream "Foul!" when the truth comes out)
PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT.  It has been done before, but never successfully.  In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace.
NEWS FLASH:  I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday.  I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish.  I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?).  I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!"
Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures.

In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact.
And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!).
