Tribeca Insights is a Boutique Expert Network, in the same field as GLG, Coleman, Vista…however they specialize in the sourcing of experts who currently work at the companies that hedge funds or mutual funds invest in.They will introduce a hedge fund research analyst to a far superior and more experienced expert who is a currently working professional not a semi-retired former employee or consultant.
Where they are different, and I think more useful to analysts, is that they offer a couple of things that no one else does:
They find experts in any field or company or industry who currently works at a targeted company in a hedge fund who tracks that stock.
The benefit for the analyst is that they get more unique and insightful information to base investment decisions upon.
Instead of recycling a staid database of experts, like other experts network firms, the TI processes and technology allow them to recruit highly targeted consultants in “real-time.”
For example, if the client is looking to speak with 5 “director-level operators of for-profit schools” or “primary physicians who prescribe Upload painkillers,” then they will recruit 10 within 1-3 days and present the profiles to the client.
TI utilizes the internet and social networking sites like LinkedIn to secure the experts like any of us, who the analyst then chooses to speak with. TI uses social networking sites, job boards, blogs, professional associations…we’re really unlimited as to where to go and how to search. O don’t think they use a recycled database of experts who talk to everyone.
When an expert joins the Tribeca Knowledge Leader Forum, they agree specifically in writing, not to in anyway, discuss confidential or proprietary information. They also agree to honor any Confidentiality Agreements they may have with their employer. Conversations are based on their personal insights and perspectives
All of their work is focused on providing the analyst with a greater understanding of the very company and industry you invest in so that a much better investment decision can be made – I think that’s their goal. Theiler legit and you CAN make money cuz they will pay you at the conclusion of the call
