In Response To: Chinese Business Scam (Jim Cote)

So you were Scammed.....What Next?
If your visiting this Blog, then you have either been scammed already, or your searching for information on the company you want to trade with.

Please leave details and description of the Company and collectively we can go about exposing online scams.

Have you been a victim to an online scam?

If you have been scammed, it is most important that you have somewhere to list the company or individuals name, and company details onto the web.

I was scammed recently and I thought I had done my homework, in fact it took around 70 emails of negotiations before they convinced me to go ahead with the purchase. It was a large sum of money,(for me anyway).

When you deposit money for electronics using Western Union, Money Gram, or Bank Transfer then you may as well say goodbye to your hard earned dollars.
Im not saying that all company's who use this payment method turn out to be scamming customers, because most suppliers will ask for this payment method for small purchases.
But make sure it is just that, a small purchase, test the waters first before you buy.
Watch out for company's who keeps using phrases like, "how do you want to pay for that, or "but how many do you want to buy now?"
The scam company will go beyond practical marketing eg, a follow up email twice a week.
The scammer will email you saying, "we want to establish long term honest business with you."
When you cant decide, they will then tell you that they have a promotion on this month, or that they have free shipping.
Nothing real is ever for free!
Ask them if they will accept paypal or credit card, some escrow services are safe also, ask them for their cheapest sample.

Watch out for emails which come from free accounts like hotmail, or gmail...Check out the website, I personally have a problem with a website that doesnt list prices at checkout and you have to create an account and contact them for price information.

There is no such thing as cheap Samsung or Apple productss from China.
They will claim that they can sell you LCD TV from Samsung and Sony and original Apple iphone4 or ipad2.
They are not telling you the truth, customs control these products from being sent out of the country.
Apple iphone is designed in the U.S and made in China, but the most suppliers can offer you are cheap copies, yet they claim that they have the original, dont buy into it.

There is a lot you can do before you make that payment transfer.
Check to see if the bank account is an individual account or company account, they will usually say it's their Boss's account.
Check to see how long they have had their domain name, is it new...? how many domains do they have?...what ae the contact registrants details?
http://www.whoismydomain.com/.

You can do a web search and include the word scam in their name.
Do a web search on the name which appears as the account name for the payment transfer, eg:
Yantai Qintain Economy and Trade Co. Ltd Scam.

If you have been scammed, please tell others. If you dont then the next unsuspecting customer will walk right into their trap!
They may change their company name, but it's most probable that they hide behind fake names anyhow,
but one thing they cant change is the name on the bank account, the name they use to receive the payment.

I was scammed by Yantai Qingtian Economy and Trade Co.Ltd.
The payment name is YangJian Yang
and they use the names Lisa Zhao and Suzie Wang.
They can be found on Made in China at http://susie125.en.made-in-china.com/

This fake company tell you they can provide brand name goods to you, brands like Samsung, Sony,Apple and then they give you a tracking number, and you find that nothing arrives, the delivery arrives to your door, only you find they have sent you a cheap toy.
They will tell you they have no idea what could have gone wrong.

This is their scam, it's simple and you can find many stories.
If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is!

NOTICE TO SCUMBEEZLES
(you know who you are... you scream "Foul!" when the truth comes out)
PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT.  It has been done before, but never successfully.  In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace.
NEWS FLASH:  I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday.  I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish.  I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?).  I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!"
Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures.

You are prohibited from posting or transmitting any unlawful, threatening, libelous, defamatory, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory, pornographic, or profane materials or any material that could constitute or encourage conduct that would be considered a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability, or otherwise violate any law.  You are likewise prohibited from posting any false claims against any company or individual.  We will fully cooperate with any law enforcement authorities or court order requesting or directing us to disclose the identity of anyone posting any such information or materials.
By posting messages and/or content on the Friends In Business (Scams 101) Message Board, you give permission for Lesley Fountain/Friends In Business/Shoestring Success Publications to display, distribute and use the posting and content for publication, advertising, promotion, excerption or example.         In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact.
And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!).
